Smooth, Sculpt, Shine: Meet The Oribe Product That Does All Three

Discover how Mandee Tauber, Oribe Principal Artist of Global Content, likes to use Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick to to achieve three unique styles.

Mandee Tauber, Oribe Principal Artist of Global Content, has more than a decade of experience shaping hair for editorial shoots and fashion shows around the world. Ask her how she’s been achieving her latest, impossibly sleek styles and she’ll point to one Oribe essential.

“I love the Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick because it gives effortless control without dimming the hair's natural movement. It's my go-to for sweeping away flyaways after a blowout or refining a style as I brush it into place. The formula is light-weight yet buildable in strength. It adds sheen while keeping everything clean and flexible. Perfect for finishing a ponytail or shaping a chignon with precision.” – Mandee Tauber

Whether you’re sculpting a sleek chignon or seeking the bounciest blowout, Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick was designed to move with your hair. The buildable formula glides on effortlessly, providing flexible hold and all-day control while smoothing strands, reducing frizz, and protecting hair against humidity.

Below, Mandee shares how to achieve three unique styles using Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick:

Modern Chignon

Equal parts polished and effortless, the modern chignon begins at the hairline. Glide Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick along the perimeter of the hairline to instantly refine and control. Using Oribe’s Italian Resin Flat Brush, sweep the hair back off the face and secure into a low ponytail.

For a clean, sculpted finish, refine the crown with another pass of Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick before twisting the lengths into a low chignon and securing with an elastic.

Glass Hair

High-shine, mirror-like hair starts in the shower. After shampooing, apply Mirror Rinse Glass Hair Treatment to deeply hydrate and smooth the strands. While hair is still damp, work in Supershine Moisturizing Cream and rough dry to begin building that reflective finish.

Next, mist small sections of hair with Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray before flat ironing to create sleek, fluid sheets of hair. Complete the look with Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick, applying directly to the hairline and part to perfect your finish and tame strays or flyaways.

Bouncy Blowout

For volume with movement, prep damp hair with Imperial Blowout Transformative Styling Crème and rough dry to remove excess moisture. Divide the hair into sections and blow dry each one using Oribe’s Italian Resin Medium Round Brush, pinning each section in place once dry.

Allow hair to cool completely, then release each section and shake out the curls for soft, airy volume. To finish, apply Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick along the hairline and lightly through the roots to smooth, add shine, and seal the look without sacrificing bounce.

No matter the style, the difference is always in the details. Shop Supershine Smoothing Wax Stick now.
