A French mosaic and fresco artist, Mathilde was trained in Paris, at the École Olivier de Serres. She then began the journey to build an atelier of her own, honing her expertise across multiple continents: learning from Roman mosaic restoration masters in Barcelona, glassblowers in Murano and then learning the crafts of zellige and tadelakt in Marrakech.

Inspiration arrived in layers for this year’s Holiday collection: Art Nouveau gold. Geometry from Byzantium. Early 20th-century friezes. And koi—a symbol closely tied to Oribe Canales and embodied in his tattoos.

Her motifs—layered, textured, alive with movement—reflect Oribe’s own obsession with texture, light and contrast. The final piece, Golden Reverie: a majestic mosaic laid in raw stone, Venetian smalti and gold glass paste.

Translating her work into print demanded precision: scale, color, the way a pattern catches light. The result, five limited-edition sets—each a mosaic unto itself.
