Share the Beauty of
Timeless Traditions
Introducing our Holiday 2024 Collaboration with Kenyan artist Thandiwe Muriu, featuring six covetable gift sets in limited-edition packaging.
Muriu’s artistic vision—deeply rooted in her African heritage—embodies the jubilant spirit of community and togetherness, with this year’s artwork encapsulating the timeless African proverb:
“When your sister does your hair, you do not need a mirror.”
Unwrap the Collection
This season, let the #oribeobsessed on your list unwrap the joy of the holidays with gift sets adorned in jubilant packaging—an expression of community and artistry.
True to our commitment to sustainability, the boxes are recyclable and are made using FSC Certified, 100% post-consumer fiber papers using a chlorine free process, soy inks and renewable electricity. The internal trays are made from 100% biodegradable and renewable plant fiber.

VIEW ALLBehind the Patterns
For this collaboration, we partnered with Muriu to present a bold expression of beauty through bespoke textiles, hand-crafted upcycled accessories, contemporary photography, and hair styled by talented Oribe hair artists.
Muriu created two textile patterns rich in symbolism, based on traditional African prints. The collaborative designs blend Muriu's artistic flair with iconic Oribe design elements in meticulously selected color palettes to celebrate the warmth and joy in the rituals that bring us together.
A Cycle of Togetherness
As Muriu explains, the oval shapes in “A Cycle of Togetherness” came from “the relationship between the community that I live in and how Oribe views hair: It’s one big hair community.”
In seeking a visual representation, she thought of the unbroken circle that wedding bands represent: “When I think about community, it’s an unbroken circle of love and support,” she says.
Muriu was also inspired by Oribe Canales’ “colorful character” and his collections of vintage hairbrushes and mirrors, incorporating references of spiky hairbrushes seen from above, as well as the tight coils, curls, and “O’s” of African hair.
Strands of History
The “Strands of History” pattern was inspired by the shape of the necks of our unique bottles, which Muriu deconstructed and laid straight to create a wavy pattern.
Muriu also worked with upcycled Oribe packaging from the archives to handcraft brilliant, one-of-a-kind eyewear, which pops from the patterns and echoes the model’s ornately styled hair.
Past Collaborations
Each holiday season, we partner with artists and makers who bring to life our shared values of craftsmanship and storytelling through museum-quality works of art featured on a collection of limited-edition gift sets.
