The Faces of Oribe Artistry

From backstage to behind the chair, discover the passionate professionals who bring our brand vision to life.

Oribe isn’t powered by fleeting trends, but by the people behind the brand who bring artistic visions to life. Inspired by our founder Oribe Canales’ unwavering dedication to the craft of hairstyling, we prioritize partnering with professionals who are also obsessed with hair. Our team of Educators acts as mentors and global ambassadors, blending technical mastery with the confidence of true artistry, and guiding other stylists with that same passion. They’re experts in the industry who can’t imagine doing anything else: they’re #OribeObsessed.

Each hair journey begins with Oribe’s Artists and Educators—but who are they exactly? Meet a few members of our team:

Kien Hoang, Oribe Principal Artist of Global Design, based in San Francisco

“Why Oribe? Because it’s magic.” —Kien Hoang

Why do you bring wigs to set?

Kien Hoang: I always love to have multiple wigs, if not just as many wigs as possible, to show the editor or the stylist what different types of visions we can create with our beautiful model.

What’s your favorite Oribe product?

KH: A product that I can always count on, the product that was my first love to Oribe Hair Care was Gel Sérum Radiance, Magic and Hold.

Tell us about your salon.

KH: I wanted a space where there was education, where there was team, and [encourage] new role models to lead the team. And that’s what Umbrella Salon is about. Everybody under one umbrella.

What’s your proudest moment of your career?

KH: One of the things that I have accomplished and I’m so proud of is being able to lead the shows at New York Fashion Week and in Paris.

What’s your one piece of advice for clients?
KH: Play! Have fun. Changes are great.

Mandee Tauber, Oribe Principal Artist of Global Content, based in New York City

“Oribe Canales has influenced my work in so many ways. The best way I can describe is really making a woman feel and look beautiful and confident.” —Mandee Tauber

What’s your favorite part of what you do?

Mandee Tauber: I love the creative aspect of this industry. You can make it whatever you want. You could do really beautiful hair. You can do these really avant-garde, creative looks, and it feels like it’s a little bit more fantasy, which I love.

What’s your biggest lesson you’ve learned?

MT: Teamwork. It’s the only way. Teamwork, and also education. Education really helps me become better and become who I want to be as a stylist.

What’s your one piece of advice for your clients?

MT: Take care of your hair like you take care of your skin. If you have a skincare routine, you should have one for your hair. Really protect and moisturize your hair, and also, embrace your natural texture. Don’t fight it.

Jenelle Oldham, Oribe Global Artist, based in Los Angeles

“I became a hairdresser because, to be honest, I was grounded a lot as a child. So what I did for fun when I was grounded [was] curl my hair. That’s how I got through being grounded all the time.” —Jenelle Oldham

What inspired your work?

Jenelle Oldham: What inspires my work is the city, nightlife, culture, movies, vintage photo shoots, my coworkers—I mean, everything. I find inspiration in everything.

What’s your kit essential?

JO: A necessary product in my kit backstage is always going to be Supershine Moisturizing Cream. I feel like Supershine Moisturizing Cream is something that everybody could use because everybody’s hair is just a little bit thirsty.

What’s your one piece of advice for clients?

JO: Invest in good shampoo [and] good conditioner. Moisture is going to be probably what you need in your hair.

Jenelle Oldham, Oribe Global Artist

Katie Manselle, Oribe Global Artist, based in Raleigh-Durham

“You take something you want to work on, it doesn’t matter what it is, and you play. And it’s just this concept of to be excellent, you have to still play as a little kid.” —Katie Manselle

What’s your favorite Oribe product?

Katie Manselle: Backstage, my favorite product would probably be Maximista Thickening Spray. It’s so versatile. You can use it wet, you can use it dry. And/or Superfine Hair Spray because that’s a really great setting [hair spray].

What’s your favorite part of what you do?

KM: Honesty, it’s just that you don’t arrive. It’s just constant learning. It’s beauty, it’s fashion. I’m just sort of fascinated by hair because it relates to everything.

Tell us about your salon.

KM: Culture Hair Studio is eight years old, so I’d say we’re out of diapers, we’re [in the] toddler stage. We’re an amazing team of ten, high in education and playfulness. We have what we call ‘salon jams.’ I try to do it bi-monthly, where [the team] gets together, take something you want to work on, it doesn’t matter what it is, and you play.

What’s your one piece of advice for clients?

KM: Allow yourself to fall. A kid doesn’t learn how to walk on the first go. We have to fail to even grow.

Katie Manselle, Oribe Global Artist

Gardner Edmunds, Oribe Global Artist, based in Los Angeles

“When you're cutting someone's hair, you really only have one hour to make an impression. For some clients, their hairstylist might be the only person that’s telling them that they’re beautiful. So, we are really in the business of helping people to feel truly seen.” —Gardner Edmunds.

What Are You Passionate About?

Gardner Edmunds: I'm passionate about helping people transform their relationship to their hair and helping people embrace what's uniquely beautiful about them.

What Product Can You Not Live Without?

GE: For my personal self, [it] would probably be Rough Luxury Soft Molding Paste. It’s somewhere between matte and shine. It has a really natural finish to it, so I like my hair to look like it doesn’t really have product in it.

New or Vintage?

GE: Definitely vintage. I like the idea of there being a story behind things that I own and finding value in something that somebody else no longer needed.

What’s Your Favorite Part of What You Do?

GE: Helping people find freedom around their relationship to their hair, and helping people embrace what’s uniquely beautiful to them. I think that having a positive self-image is something we’re all challenged with, especially living in a society that is so based on perfectionism. As hairstylists, we have a unique position to really help transform how people see themselves.

Stacy Ciceron, Oribe Brand Ambassador, based in New York

“What is it that you like? What is it that you like to do? What do you like to wear? Do a bit of self-discovery.” —Stacey Ciceron

Favorite part of what you do?

Stacey Ciceron: The impact that I get to make. When I was a young artist, it was all about making a name for myself, exposure, and just putting myself out there. Now, later on in my career, it’s all about the impact, the contribution, and seeing lives change based on information and education.

Why Oribe?

SC: I align with the idea of the attention to details. The elevation, the innovation, the learning community.

Advice for your clients?

SC: Once you start to learn how to be excited about yourself, that radiates out into the world, and then you just start attracting different amazing things. And I want you to experience that.

Stacy Ciceron, Oribe Brand Ambassador
