To the Max

Essence, April 2015 Hair by Chuck Amos For the beauty-focused editorial “To the Max” in Essence’s April 2015 issue, hairstylist Chuck Amos used Oribe products to achieve three inspiring hair looks that are big and bold for spring.

Bombshell Blowout

Get the Look:
1. Apply Volumista Mist for Volume and Crème for Style on damp hair. Blow-dry the hair straight.
2. Use a 1 ¾-inch curling iron to create natural, S-shaped waves.
3. Apply Supershine Moisturizing Cream on the waves and spray Dry Texturizing Spray all over the hair. Tease the hair to create volume and texture.
4. Finish the look with Superfine Hair Spray.

Asymmetrical Braids

Get the Look:
1. Create a side part and apply a mixture of Gel Sérum and Supershine Moisturizing Cream.
2. Using the same texture achieved by the Bombshell Blowout, create two braids—one larger than the other—on each side of the head.
3. Apply Superfine Hair Spray and tease the hair from the larger braid for an ’80s-inspired silhouette.

Textured Topknot

Get the Look:
1. Mix Gel Sérum with Supershine Moisturizing Cream and gather the hair to the top of the head to make a ponytail.
2. Tease sections of the ponytail and secure them into the base of the head until you have a large topknot.
3. Create fishtail braids on some sections of the ponytail to add texture. Place them at the base of the head, adding to the large topknot. Finish with Superfine Hair Spray.
