British Vogue, January 2016
Hair by James Pecis
Oribe Global Ambassador and go-to editorial hairstylist James Pecis kept it light and youthful for model Gigi Hadid’s British Vogue debut. The January 2016 cover features the social media sweetheart's locks tucked under a hat, which James used as a prop to enhance her effortless look. He also encouraged loose pieces from the low ponytail to keep it natural. “It helps if you style the hair before you put the hat on,” said James. “Whether your hair is straight or curly, layers around the face can add a touch of easy style.”
Get the Look:
- Prep hair with Foundation Mist and Maximista Thickening Spray and Blast dry with a blow dryer.
- Using a curling tong, create waves in a natural pattern and break them up with your fingers. Spray a touch of Dry Texturizing Spray throughout for a lived-in feel.
- For the cover look, form a side part and gently secure hair in a low ponytail. Once the ponytail is in place, pull a few pieces of hair out to frame the face, which will soften the look after the hat is added.
