"New West"

Interview Magazine, December 2013
Hair by Tomo Jidai

“She’s a modern hippie girl out West,” hairstylist Tomo Jidai said of the inspiration for the Interview shoot. Tomo referenced the ‘60s, fashion designer Junya Watanabe and images of Cowboy Kate by photographer Sam Haskins as influences for the braided style he created.

Get the look:
1. Wash hair with Shampoo and Conditioner for Moisture & Control.
2. After towel drying hair, apply Foundation Mist all over and Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil to ends, then blowdry hair.
3. Part hair down the middle with your fingers. Divide hair into sections, three on each side and one in back. Take sections of hair and fishtail braid from roots to ends. Make sure to leave out a few pieces of hair, specifically around the face and in the back of the head.
4. After braiding the entire head, make each braid wider by using fingers to pull apart the hair. Finish by misting each braid with Dry Texturizing Spray.
