Oribe Intense Manicure

In honor of the launch of our new Intense Conditioner for Moisture & Control, we asked editorial nail artist Miho 揗ei Kawajiri to design a manicure inspired by the packaging. In Tokyo, Mei owned her own nail salon, Foxxy Nail Salon, where she offered an omakase service, a term borrowed from Japanese cooking. Omakase is an expression used at sushi restaurants where patrons leave the selection of fish up to the chef梥imilarly, Mei抯 clients trusted her to create whichever design she wanted.

Just one year ago, Mei moved to New York City and quickly became a rising star in the nail industry, with a client list including Swarovski, Jill Stuart, Harper抯 Bazaar, Miu Miu and La Perla, to name a few.

揗y signature style is geometric, abstract nails, says Mei, who opted against creating a literal interpretation of the ombr bottle and instead chose to play with the variation in colors for a more graphic design. Scroll through the slideshow above for step-by-step instructions to recreating the look, which is perfect for spring.
