Skaist Taylor

The design duo Pamela Skaist Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor of Skaist Taylor were inspired by the ‘70s and the rockstar club scene in LA for their Spring 2013 collection. “The look is really cool and full, with a sense of freedom,” explains lead hairstylist Kien Hoang for Oribe Hair Care. The feathery light hair, which can only be described as a “glamorous afro look,” complemented the fun and carefree collection of hippie-inspired ensembles with a modern feminine flair.

Get the look:
1. Spray ends of hair with Foundation Mist.
2. Section off hair into 1-inch strands and use large pins to create figure-eight weaves all over the head.
3. Press hair with a straightener to tighten each weave, then spray with Imperméable to add extra holding power.
4. Take out pins and stretch out each weave to loosen strands of hair. Use fingers to create separation and add volume by backcombing hair.
5. Spray with Dry for added volume to keep hair nice and full.
