In the new issue of ESPN The Magazine, dubbed “The Body Issue,” 2012 Olympic hopefuls from the USA bared all for a photo shoot that shows off their hard-earned physiques. Hairstylist Jayson Medina used Oribe products to style the hair of several members of the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team. “We tried to keep it very natural since they are volleyball players,” Medina said. Here, he shares how to recreate some of his favorite looks from the shoot.

Heather Bown and Nellie Spicer (2nd and 5th from the left)
1. Prep hair with Supershine Moisturizing Cream for hydration and UV protection, then rough dry.
2. Wrap large sections of hair loosely around a 1-inch curling iron, leaving the ends out, to create soft waves.
3. Spray Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots for volume.
4. Spray Après Beach on the ends and throughout the lengths of the hair. “This gives a beachy vibe that’s still touchable and shiny,” Medina said. “It doesn’t leave hair stiff and salty like some other products out there.”

Cynthia Barboza (4th from the left)
1. Prep hair with Foundation Mist and give a good, smooth blow dry.
2. Use a flat iron (Medina likes T3) to give the hair some bend—not curl—around the face.
3. Take a dollop of Crème for Style and run it through the hair from mid-shafts to ends with your fingers to provide separation.
