"Breaking Barriers"

Jessica Malaysia, September 2014
Hair by Stefano Greco

From a strong and edgy ponytail to a deep side part with long, soft waves, model Sung Hee Kim served as the perfect canvas for hairstylist Stefano Greco to experiment with polarizing looks in Jessica Malaysia’s September issue. To achieve the ponytail’s sleekness, Greco started with Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray. “It gives a wet effect with some hold,” he explained. “So it’s easier to sculpt or pull back the hair.”

Greco also added bangs to the cover model’s updo, which instantly created a graphic look. If you’re looking to sport your own set of bangs, Greco advises to DIY with a fake fringe first. “Play with it,” he said. “Start with a longer, side-swept bang, and the shorter you go, the stronger the effect.”

Get the Ponytail Look:
1. Use Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray to create a really tight and clean ponytail.
2. Apply Superfine Hair Spray to maintain the ponytail’s sleek look.
3. Mist Dry Texturizing Spray onto the ponytail for some fullness.
