Menswear Fall/Winter 2013
Arashi Yanagawa’s latest collection for John Lawrence Sullivan proved that he is a menswear designer worth paying attention to. His selection for fall 2013 was a daring mix of ’70s glamour and modern construction. Pops of bright colors, tartan and floral prints were standouts in the collection of well-tailored designs suitable for the man who’s not afraid to stand out in the crowd. To complement the retro feelings of the clothes, Ramona created a look that pulled double duty: A well-groomed, slicked-back style in the back of the head juxtaposed a more explosive, frizzy chaos in the front.

How to achieve this look:
1. Part hair from ear to ear over the crown of the head.

2. Slick the back down using Crème for Style and finish with Superfine Strong.

3. Apply Royal Blowout to the front of the hair and blow dry, using a comb to encourage hair to set without any specific direction.

4. Finish the front with Dry to get a matte, frizzy texture with a little hold.

Menswear Fall/Winter 2013

Ramona created a twist on the classic side part for Boris Bidjan Saberi’s fall 2013 collection. “The inspiration for the collection was German WWII soldiers’ uniforms, so Boris wanted the hair and skin of the model to look uber-perfect,” Ramona said. To mimic the severe corners and tailoring of Boris’ designs, Ramona created two side parts for a more angular look.

How to achieve this look:
1. Make two parts at the recession of the hairline.

2. Use Superfine Strong on each section and blow dry hair back and tight to the head.

3. Do the same to the top to create a bit of a box shape on the head.
 • Rad Hourani
Couture Spring/Summer 2013

For his second couture collection, Rad Hourani wanted something different than the usual slicked-back hair he has done in past shows, but still on point with the androgynous style that he is known for. “Rad has been playing with the idea of a heavy fringe for a few seasons, so we finally did it,” Ramona said. Every model was fitted with a heavy black bowl cut, which complimented the all black and white mod-influenced collection.

How to achieve this look:
1. Flat-iron hair with Royal Blowout to get a wet texture.

2. French braid hair up and under wig cap.

3. Fit models with cropped black wigs and cut to desired length and style.

4. Use Superfine Strong to clean up hairline and to finish the wig after it’s been cut.

5. Spray wigs with Royal Blowout right before models walk out to make hair shiny.
