Newcomer Emily Ratajkowski attended the
Vanity Fair Oscar party looking stunning in a simple black dress with sexy cutout in the back. The model/actress/it girl makes her film debut later this year in the highly anticipated screen adaptation of Gone Girl with Ben Affleck. Stylist Anh Co Tran was on hand to help the starlet get ready for the evening’s festivities. “The inspiration was a messy effortless do,” Anh said of Ratajkowski’s hairstyle for the evening. “She is such a pretty girl, I thought less would be more youthful. Her dress was simple and sexy, so I wanted to do the same with her hair.”

Get the look:
1. Starting with clean damp hair, rough-dry strands with hands. Flip head forward and smooth out hair with a round brush to give it some body.
2. Take medium-sized sections of hair and wrap around a 1 1/4-inch curling iron to create waves. Once entire head is curled, apply Dry Texturizing Sprayb all over to create texture and body.
3. Gently brush out hair with a Mason Pearson brush and backcomb at the crown area to create volume. Split hair into two ponytails at the center back of the head. Take top ponytail and loosely tie into a knot sitting at the crown and secure with bobby pins. Take remaining ponytail and tie another knot on top of the previous one and secure with bobby pins. “This creates a dimensional chignon,” Anh said.
4. Leave a few pieces of hair out to make the look messy and loose. Any short pieces in the front should be pushed back off the face and pinned into place. To finish, mist with Superfine Hair Spray to keep the look in place.
