We spoke to Paul about his background, where his drive comes from and more.

How did you get started as a fitness trainer?

As a kid I played multiple sports and through college I was a university cheerleader.
I have always been very active, so when I found myself on a “finding myself” search, three of my best friends came together for my 21st birthday and paid for my certification…the rest is history! It was truly the best gift I have ever gotten.

What attracted you to Barry's Bootcamp?

I was fitness director at another boot camp company and was looking for that next level. Barry's Bootcamp was that step up. I don't do anything but fitness. It is what I eat, sleep and breathe!

You put so much effort and energy into your classes. What inspires you?

My Barry’s team inspires me. We support one another. We take each other’s classes. We share movements and ideas. Working within a team/family setting has been my inspiration. From the top instructors to the new instructor on the schedule, we work together as one.

How do you fuel for your busy days? Can you tell us a little bit about your diet?

I drink a mix of water, ginger and lemon juice for a daily detox. I eat lots of greens, as well as lean meats. Being human, I do occasionally stray from the norm, but when I do, I make sure to jump back on track!

As a fitness instructor, keeping your body healthy couldn't be more important. Can you share some of your best healthy lifestyle tips?

No matter what, train a minimum of three times a week.

Do you have any beauty tips to keep you fresh throughout your frequent workouts?

The key is to stay moisturized.

Given your background as a celebrity trainer, can you talk a little bit about not crossing the line when working with celebrities?

It's all about respect. You just have to keep things professional and separate.

Can you tell us about your current workout playlist?

From house to underground, EDM, Hip Hop—it's all fair game—and I always keep a throwback in my back pocket!

What would you say to all those people who made a New Year’s resolutions to get in shape?

Everyday you have a chance for a new resolution! You don't always have to wait for a new year to evolve. If you really want change, the way to success is through planning and execution…and doing it with fire!
