"Country Strong"

Celebrity hairstylist Melissa Schleicher used Oribe products to give Carrie Underwood three gorgeous looks for the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. On the red carpet, Underwood’s locks were gathered into a set of cascading curls to complement her strapless ensemble. Her hair was then let loose for her performance, where Dry gave lots of texture and volume. “Carrie was rocking out and shaking her head, so I wanted to give her big, teased up hair” said Schleicher. The final style of the night, a loose updo, was designed around the high, bejeweled neckline of Underwood’s dress. Here’s how to get the looks:

Red Carpet
1. Prep hair by working Supershine throughout. Do a hot roller set to give body.
2. Once the rollers have been removed, spray Soft Lacquer into the hair, section by section, and use a curling iron to define the curls.
3. Subtly twist hair on one side in the back to keep the curls cascading over one shoulder.
4. Finish with Superfine.

1. Break up curls and give hair unlimited volume and texture with Dry. Tease to desired height.

Messy Updo
1. Spray more Dry for added texture pull hair into a loose updo, similar to a style achieved with a banana clip. Secure with bobby pins and accent with an elegant barrette.
2. Finish the look using Superfine Strong for hold and shine.
