Coco Rocha at the 2014 Academy Awards

Hair by Anh Co Tran

Supermodel Coco Rocha co-hosted the Oscars pre- and post-show for CNN wearing two dramatic gowns by designer Zac Posen for the evening. Rocha was there to talk Oscars fashion and pick her favorite looks from the red carpet. When it came to her hair for the evening, Coco turned to none other than hairstylist Anh Co Tran, who gave the model her cropped cut, to style her for the big day. “With this look, it’s all about the haircut. The cut is key,” Anh said. “The look is a blunt bob, which was a very popular style in the ‘90s. I kept her hair very straight. The dresses were modern classic with a bit of an edge, so I wanted to keep the same going on with her hair.”

Get the look:
1. Apply Maximista Thickening Spray to slightly damp hair. Rough-dry hair first with hands and a blowdryer, then go back through with a small round brush to straighten the hair.
2. Once hair is dry, go back through with a flat iron to make sure the hair is completely straight. Apply Dry Texturizing Spray, mainly to the roots, to create lift.
3. Mist hair from mid-lengths to ends with Après Beach Wave & Shine Spray. “This will create a more of lived-in style and separation, which I love tremendously,” Anh said.
4. Finish look with a pass of Superfine Strong Hair Spray. “Since it was raining, we wanted to make sure that her hair would stay in place all day,” Anh noted.
