Pas de Calais

Lead stylist Linh Nguyen for Oribe Hair Care

Pas de Calais designer Yukari Suda took a trip to the countryside for her Fall Winter 2014 collection, which she entitled “Bucolic” for her rustic-inspired designs. The collection, featuring lots of layered cotton shirts, knits and wool coats in earthy tones, was complemented by the twisted textured updo created by lead hairstylist Linh Nguyen for Oribe Hair Care. “The collection is full of natural materials, so I wanted to incorporate that organic feeling into the look,” Linh said.

Get the look:
1. Prep dry hair with Maximista Thickening Spray. Layer on Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse from roots to ends to create separation.
2. Blowdry hair using hands to work in the product and enhance natural texture.
3. Use fingers to divide hair into three sections. Starting with the center section, twist hair to the left as if you’re creating a French twist going down the head. Secure twist at the nape of the neck with pins. Repeat step with left side twist directed to the left, and right side twist directed to the right. Spray hair with Dry Texturizing Spray if you need more grip before twisting. Keep side twists high to shape the head.
4. Add more Maximista and Surfcomber to ends to create piecey separation.
5. Work some Surfcomber onto hands and dab onto twists for a wet look.
6. Use your fingers to gently rough up the hair all over. From the center section, pull hair along the hairline out and over to the left so that it swoops across the forehead.
